To be eligible for academy selection, players must:
- Attend a Midlothian primary school
- Be registered with a football club
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Be successful in the academy trial process for P6 boys, P7 boys & P6/7 girls (no trial process for P4/5 boys & girls or 2014-2012 boys & girls)
