Players from Coerver® Coaching in Scotland, Ireland and South Africa will be attending a SL Benfica Elite Player Development camp at the clubs training complex in Lisbon this summer.
The week will begin with an opening ceremony at the club. The programme also includes 5 hours training per day, professional coaching, practical and theory sessions on nutrition, advice and support from Benfica Head Coaches, a visit to Benfica 360, evaluation by SL Benfica recruitment department and a stadium tour.
Coerver® Scotland and Portugal Director Gordon Craig said “SL Benfica is one of the World’s most prestigious sporting clubs; they have a strong history in developing champions not only in football but sport in general. There are many things that are in common in our Coerver® programme, we are really pleased to be able to offer such an opportunity for elite Coerver® Players.”
“For our players to develop its important they experience different environments and cultures. For this reason we want our Coerver® Players in Scotland to play a big part in our programme in Portugal. We were also pleased to welcome a young player from Coerver® Ireland and next week two players from Coerver® South Africa will join 8 Coerver Scottish players attending.”
“This relationship with Benfica has been developed over a number of years but this agreement is a significant step forward for Coerver® Coaching in Portugal. The great thing for us as Coerver® Coaching is to be linked to such a huge adidas club who play attacking football”.
Two players have already spent the last week in Lisbon with young Scottish player Dean Cornellious winning the prestigious Rui Costa Award for the top player at camp.
This weekend 10 more young Coerver® Players travelled to Lisbon to take part. Follow their progress on our social media https://www.facebook.com/coerver.scotland @scotlandcoerver @gcraigcoerver
