As we move through Phase 3 and a Return to Football, we're providing information to give all parents and players, guidance, and recommendations to facilitate are continued RETURN TO COERVER® while following all Scottish Government and Scottish Football Association guidelines. Find out more here
Since the middle of March all our on-field coaching sessions have been postponed due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). This includes Partner Club sessions, Performance Academy and Holiday Clinics.
We’ve continued to communicate with all customers either by email, social media or through our website and have created new online products to help support players keep both physically and mentally active.
We’ve been busy during the enforced COVID-19 break with the launches of our Online Home Practice, Young Creators competition and Virtual Performance Academy. All to keep players physically and mentally active. More recently we launched our Virtual Performance Academy for Clubs and Teams to get them started back to team training albeit virtually.
In addition to these new initiatives, we’ve continued to support coaches delivering two online Coerver Intro Webinars to over 160 coaches. Our own coaches also continued their own training and development with Co-Founder, Alf Galustian, delivering two online Coerver® Coaching Global updates as well as local training for our own coaches around Scotland.
Return to Coerver®
As we come through Phase 1 of the Government easing of lockdown restrictions, we anticipate on 18 June 2020 a further easing and we’ll go into Phase 2 of our Return to Coerver® Programme. This gives Coerver® Coaching Scotland an opportunity to get back to ‘on-field’ training albeit with restricted numbers and following all Scottish Government and National Football Federation guidelines.
Being planned and prepared will allow us to restart programmes as soon as it’s safe to do so and take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of our players, coaches, parents and spectators.
We’re also excited to continue to support our Virtual Performance Academy players across Scotland and launch new programmes for players, coaches and with our Partner Clubs.
Gordon Craig – Owner/Director of Coerver® Coaching Scotland
“We’ve been working behind the scenes since lockdown began to make sure we’d be in a strong position to return to coaching when safe to do so. Our focus is to make sure that it’s safe for our players, parents and coaches to return and have clear guidelines for everyone involved. This includes the professional facilities we use.
As the World’s Number 1 Soccer Teaching Method, some of our Coerver® Teams around the world have already started back. We’ve been in regular contact to listen and take on their guidance. In addition to this, our Technical Director, Joe Jones, has also been working through the Government and National Federations guidelines as we look at our RETURN TO COERVER® programme of events.
As we see the ease of the lockdown restrictions, we’re excited as part of our next steps to be able offer our Coerver® Masterclass – Small Group Sessions for players and continue to support our Virtual Performance Academy for both players and Clubs/Teams.
We’ll continue to monitor the developments and have created a Priority Booking and Pre-Registration system for new programmes we’ll launch when it’s safe to do so. You can access this on our website.”
In accordance with Government advice, the Scottish FA suspension of the football season and the closure of many venues, all Coerver® Coaching activities had been postponed until and including Sunday 22nd March 2020.
This postponement has been extended up to and including Sunday 5th April 2020.
We’re living and operating in an unprecedented time and these measures have not been taken lightly. However, we’ve reviewed and considered all the information available and we believe it's the right one to keep all players, parents, coaches and staff safe in the current environment. All sessions will be rescheduled for a future date.
Keeping you updated
We’ll continue to review any further information provided by the Government, medical authorities and Scottish FA, following all guidance provided and review potential impact. We’ll issue information by Friday 27th March for activities starting Monday 6th April onwards.
We’ll also provide regular updates through our website www.coerver.scot, email, social media pages and will be in touch about rescheduling the planned activities as soon as we can, including some additional events and special bonus offers for our players.
The situation is continually changing and subsequently information provided can change at any time and at short notice so please keep checking here and social media channels for updates.
Keeping active
We’re providing all Coerver® players with FREE access to some online Home Practice content to keep players (and you) active and practicing over the break. Enter our competition by sending us Home Practice videos on social media - use #homepractice in your post.
If you haven’t received information about how to login, please email your player’s name and the venue they attend to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
Payments
All payments should continue to be made by standing order for the time being. As we’re reviewing the situation on an ongoing basis, we’ll advise when and if this would be necessary. The plan is to reschedule any postponed sessions, so any payment would cover the normal amount of sessions per year/season. We may also include some special events for our players.
It’s going to be a tough time for everyone, including our business, and we really do appreciate your support. Please all take care.

Last week saw six Coerver® Coaching Performance Academy players travel to Lisbon, Portugal to train with Portuguese Champions SL Benfica.
The players aged 11-15 joined players from across the Globe to take part in the club’s annual Elite Training camp at the clubs first team & academy base, the Caixa Futebol Campus. The camp was made up of an intense training schedule with team & individual training sessions, sport science testing, matches & daily lectures on what you need to become a top athlete. Each player also received a detailed report and feedback from their SL Benfica Coach.
Coerver® Scotland Performance Academy manager Gillian Thomson, who travelled with the players, said ‘Our Performance Academy programme focuses on whole player & person development, helping every player become the best they can be.
Through our partnership with SL Benfica we have been able to offer many unique opportunities for our young players, this latest visit was a fantastic opportunity for them to see the requirements and standards at a top European club. The intense training programme and expert coaching has helped improve them as players on the field & also young people off the field. Already they are showing the good habits from the trip, at our programmes back in Scotland’
As well as all the football activities, there was also a social element to the trip with players getting to know their peers from different cultures and countries including China, Russia, Scandinavia, as well as our Portuguese hosts. All the players also got to visit the famous Estadio da Luz and learn the history of this great sporting club. The week closed with a presentation & awards dinner at the stadium.
Feedback from some of the players on the trip:
- ‘It was great to train with coaches from the SL Benfica Academy, it has really helped improve my 1v1 and attacking skills’ Euan (born 2005)
- ‘A fantastic experience of a lifetime, playing against players from all over the world. It was great to see how Benfica develop their players and to be part of that’ Gavin (born 2003)
- ‘It was an honour training at Benfica, I really enjoyed using the clubs training facilities, which were first class. The trip has really helped improve my confidence’ Cameron (born 2004)
Thank you to SL Benfica for hosting us, we look forward to continuing & growing this special partnership and providing more opportunities for our Performance Academy & Partner Club players.
