Benfica Elite Training Soccer Camps

Benfica Elite Training Soccer Camps in Lisbon, Portugal, is a football camp program developed by Sport Lisboa e Benfica for youngsters boys born between 1998 and 2003 that want to develop and improve their sporting performance.

Sport Lisboa e Benfica will put at the participants disposal the knowledge and soccer programs that made it a world reference in the elite football training of young athletes.

This soccer / football program is only designed for those who play soccer in a soccer club and have a license in a club.

Benfica Football Club:

Benfica is the most successful Portuguese Soccer Club in terms of overall titles (72), being with the international trophies a total of 75 titles and the only one to have won all Portuguese competitions. They have won a record 34 Primeira Liga Portuguese titles (the first team to win the league undefeated), and 25 Portuguese Cup Titles.Internationally, Benfica won two consecutive European Cup titles (Actual UEFA Champion’s League) in 1961 and 1962.

Benfica FC was the club of Eusébio da Silva Ferreira. Eusébio is considered one of the greatest footballers of all time. During his professional career, he scored 749 goals in 745 matches at club level and 41 goals for his national team, a total of 790 goals.

Methodology

The methodology applied in the Benfica Elite Training Camps will be the same that SL Benfica Football Club uses in the training of its soccer athletes, and that guarantees the sustainability of its professional squads.

Through specific training that Sport Lisboa e Benfica will provide, you will be able to develop your technical, tactical, physical and psychological skills.

Aspects like, running technique, relationship with the ball, tactical circulation and attacking and defensive game principles will be worked on daily in both an individual and collective context.

The training schedules will have a duration of 5 hours per day (Monday thru Friday), and will be developed by SL Benfica’s Youth Football Club coaches accredited by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) and UEFA.

There will be 3 categories (under-14 to under-19), each having specific technical-tactical training. In addition, you will also have the possibility of being observed and evaluated by Sport Lisboa e Benfica’s Technical and Scouting Departments.

Goalkeeper training also available during the camp.

The Performance Academy is a Technical development programme for youth soccer players that is brought to you by Coerver® Coaching, “The world’s number 1 soccer skills teaching method”, and their international partner adidas®.

This is achieved by providing each player with professional coaching, age specific Technical and Physiological programmes, top class facilities and an extensive support programme on and off the training field.

Our aim is to develop confident and creative players whilst teaching essential Social skills such as good sportsmanship and respect, in addition to a good attitude to practice and play.

Performance Academy Pathway

Performance Academy operates a 3 level, interchangeable development pathway that consists of Development, Advanced and Elite programmes.

To gain entry to the Performance Academy, each player is required to complete a practical trial that has been developed to test each individual’s ability  within our 5S player development model.

Each player’s performance in these five areas will determine which level of The Performance Academy  the player will be offered a place within.

Youth Diploma 2 Course Overview

The Coerver® Coaching Youth Diploma 2 course expands on the knowledge gained from the Youth Diploma 1 course with a focus on how to develop a team style through individual and small group skills teaching both in and out of possession.

The Coerver ® Coaching Youth Diploma 2 is a 2-day course that has been broken down into 4 modules that will be presented through lecture presentations & practical demonstrations:

Course Instructor Alfred Galustian (Co-founder Coerver® Coaching)

Alfred Galustian started his soccer career as a young player for Wimbledon. He is the Co-Founder and International Director of Coerver® Coaching, and has been largely responsible for building the program Globally.

To date Alfred has worked as a Coach Instructor with 17 national  federations including the French, English, Japanese and Australian.

Alfred has also worked with over 50 top professional clubs including Bayern Munich FC, Manchester City FC, Real Madrid CF, Olympique Marseille, Arsenal FC and AC Milan.

Alfred was also the Specialist Skills Coaching Advisor to the Premier League. Alf was appointed Specialist Skills Advisor to the Premier League during the 2010/11 season, assigned to help develop the next generation of Elite football coaches in this country, further endorsing his reputation for expertise in technical skills teaching.
