A boy who has followed his dreams and will now play his football in Portugal next season, through our project he will play at a Benfica feeder club in Lisbon.

Today was the final day of 5 day Summer Camp exclusively for Coerver Partner Club Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts in sunny Fife

The Global Coerver Coaching Youth Football Partnership with SL Benfica just went from strength to strength.

SL Benfica who in 2015 were voted in Dubai as The Worlds Best Youth Football Academy can boast 167 pro players and 50 being Internationalist. They can also boast in developing top players such as Renato of the Portuguese National A team at the age of 18.

Coerver Coaching are proud to announce this week that Josh Hannah and Connor Presley won the top awards in Benfica. The awards are Mystique and Eusebio !

Josh winning Eusebio means he will now return as an SL Benfica 2003 player training with the 2003 squad later this year. Josh has been on the Coerver programme from the age of 6 working with Coerver Ireland. Whilst Connor of Coerver Texas USA is through our support and programmes playing his football here in Portugal.

Final day yesterday at the Kids Masters Tournernent with our International select squad. Great performances from our boys with the goal of tournament to our very own Coerver kid Liam Kelly with a 30 yard top corner drive. Boys finished top of table and total 14 goals for 3 against.

Founded on February 28th, 1904, Sport Lisboa e Benfica is the Biggest Club in the World. It has 14 million fans, 160.000 members in 70 countries and, in 2006, won the award of “Biggest Club in the World” by Guinness World Record.
SL Benfica has currently 1200 athletes distributed by 30 sports.
It is through football that SL Benfica brings pride and prestige to its millions of fans. Benfica is among the beautiful game’s elite: it is one of 12 clubs that won the European Cup twice; it was considered by UEFA as the 9th European Club of the 20th century, being ranked 8th by the prestigious magazine L’Equipe.
It is also the club with the most titles in Portugal.
In addition to its vast and rich honors, legendary players like Eusébio (the Club’s maximum scorer, with 638 goals, having been named by FIFA as one of the 10 best players of all time), Chalana, Nené, Rui Costa, among others, wore Benfica’s jersey. It currently has several world class players at its service, such as the captain Luisão and the goalkeeper Júlio César, both Brazilian internationals, Nico Gaitán, Argentinean international, Mitroglou and Samaris, Greek internationals, and Raúl Jiménez, Mexican international.
SL Benfica has two professional squads – the First Team and the B Team. The First Team is composed of 26 players from 9 different nationalities, 16 of them representing their national teams.

METHODOLOGY
The methodology applied in Elite Training Camps will be the same SL Benfica uses in the training of its athletes and which guarantees the sustainability of its professional squads. Besides the specific training sessions that SL Benfica will provide, you will be able to develop your technical, tactical, physical and psychological skills.
Such aspects as running technique, relationship with the ball, tactical circulations, attacking and defensive game principles, will be worked daily in both individual and collective situations.
The training schedules will consist of 5 hours of practice per day, during 7, 14 or 21 days, and will be developed by Benfica coaches accredited by both the Portuguese Football Federation and UEFA.
The participants will be divided by age groups according to their age/level, and a specific technical and tactical training program will be implemented in each of the groups. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to be observed and assessed by Sport Lisboa e Benfica’s Scouting Department.

Accredited by the Portuguese Football Federation and UEFA, the SL Benfica coaches are key elements in the development of the Club’s young athletes. They will be monitoring your evolution in practices during Elite Training Camps. The technical coach in charge will be Professor João Santos:

During your participation in Elite Training Camps, the training sessions will take place at Caixa Futebol Campus and the accommodation will be at Hotel
Aldeia dos Capuchos. Travels between the two places are provided by Sport Lisboa e Benfica. CAIXA FUTEBOL CAMPUS
Providing all the needs of an elite club, SL Benfica’s Caixa Futebol Campus will be at your disposal, having:
• 9 Football fields

Coerver® Coaching Scotland has recently delivered guest lectures and practical sessions to the student of three leading Scottish Universities and Colleges.

Coerver® Scotland Director Joe Jones alongside regional Head Coaches James Brash & Chris Crookston delivered 60 minute guest lectures and 90 minute practical sessions to sports and teaching students at the Scottish Rural University College (SRUC), The University of the West of Scotland and Dundee & Angus College.

SRUC Sport and Recreation programme leader Drew Wallace said ‘I thoroughly enjoyed the course and have heard nothing but positive comments from the students.  The content of the course fits in perfectly with what we teach our sports coaching students over the 4 years of their degree. As the course was delivered I could see many links to theories of talent development and motivation that we examine on our course. 

I also found the delivery of the course to be professional, engaging, fun and highly relevant to producing great coaches.  We hope to work with Coerver® lots more in the future’.

Intro Course

The purpose of our new Coerver® Intro Course, is to provide attendees with theory and practical based overview of the evolution of the Coerver® method since being founded in 1984.

Attendees will learn how to teach skills from mastery to game effective use with a specific focus on Coerver® Ball Mastery & Coerver® 1v1 Mirror Moves which are essential skills for all players no matter their age, ability or position.

Our courses take place at top professional club facilities at the Rangers FC training complex in Glasgow and on the stadium pitch at Livingston FC.
